Signal For Help Is a New Tool for Abuse Victims, Speaking out can be a dangerous situation for survivors in and of itself.
Child Chapter Association dedicated to Children and their safety, Child Chapter Association is launching an important campaign that will hopefully serve as a lifeline for Child abuse/violence or human trafficking situation survivors around the world.

What is “Signal for Help” ?
“Signal for Help” is a one-handed gesture that children and Youth (and Adults as well) can use on a video call or in person to communicate that they feel threatened.The movement involves facing your palm to the camera or person, tucking your thumb into your palm and folding your four fingers over the top of your thumb. It is an alternative to calling 100 in india and sends a signal to anyone—the police, a family member, a friend—to “please reach out to me safely,” so that the victim can respond via text or email or in a call away from the abuser and provide information to get help.

A Universal Sign for Help The Signal for Help campaign offers a new tool for survivors, but it also teaches people who want to help, how to do so in a way that protects the safety and agency of the survivor.
Signal for Help campaign helps bring Child abuse, violence out of the shadows. Now more than ever, we have to be vigilant and look out for each other.
The gesture is a one-handed sign where you show your palm as if to give a high-five, then tuck the thumb into your palm and lower the remaining four fingers over it.
The important thing to note is this isn’t something just for children. Adults should learn this sign as well.
Child Chapter Association explains the “signal for help” doesn’t necessarily mean to call 100 right away. The person may want to talk with you or get more information. But if you believe the person to be in immediate danger, you should call 911 in USA and 100 in India.

One of the scariest things about being trapped in a situation with a dangerous person is how many people don't notice. Abusers, kidnappers, traffickers, and the like often monitor and control a person so tightly that asking for help seems impossible.There are countless stories of people managing to slip someone a note saying they need help or signaling in some other way that they're in an unsafe situation. Wouldn't it be great if there was a way that they could quickly, yet discreetly, alert people that they were in trouble without flagging the person putting them in danger?
It's the international signal for help, and it's going viral for all the right reasons.

What to Do If You See the Sign
Intervening in a Child Abuse, violence, or human trafficking situation can be dangerous so it’s important to practice caution and operate calmly if this happens. If you see the signal being given, the first thing to do is check in with the person and ask what they need, and what they want you to do.If you see something happening in public, a good tactic is to try and diffuse the situation by making noise nearby or trying to speak with the people involved in a calm way by pretending you know them. Questions like “I haven’t seen you in ages, how have you been?” might be able to calm things down to the point where help can be sought.
If the person can’t respond or is in immediate danger, call 100 in India 911 in USA to contact the police. When speaking with police, it’s important to let them know the situation might be tense and to approach without sirens and lights so as not to aggravate the situation.
